The next generation media programme supports 11 projects in the sector of new technologies and ubiquitous computing. The range of subjects extends from wireless networking of production facilities through to the measurement of personal vital functions with the help of radio-based microsensors.
Networked professional and private worlds - the intelligent interplay between people and technology is a central vision of our time. The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology has created the next generation media programme to promote this goal through collaborative research, to develop new technologies and processes and to elaborate international standards.
11 projects performed by more than 70 companies and scientific institutes were choosen in a competitive selection process that began in 2004. They are working comprehensively together in the innovation areas consumer electronics, logistics networks, production facilities and health services to develop beacons of future technology.
